ReFocus Austria at the 2022 SelectUSA Investment Summit

Each June, the U.S. Department of Commerce’s International Trade Administration organizes an investment summit to promote foreign direct investment (FDI) in the United States. Bringing together investors, companies, and government officials, it provides ample opportunities to network—also for the Austrian companies participating at this year’s SelectUSA Summit in National Harbor, MD on 26-29 June, 2022.

Christine Schwarz-Fuchs, the President of the Austrian Federal Council (Bundesrat) visited the U.S. with a delegation of colleagues from 16 – 20 May 2022. Also in the delegation were Vice President of the Austrian Federal Council Günther Novak, leader of the Austrian Social Democrats (SPÖ) in the Federal Council Korinna Schumann, leader of the Austrian People’s Party (ÖVP) in the Federal Council Andrea Eder-Gitschthaler, and leader of the Green Party in the Federal Council Claudia Hauschildt-Buschberger.

Austrian Defense Minister Klaudia Tanner Visits U.S. for Signing Ceremony as Austria Formally Joins SPP

From 10-13 May 2022, Austrian Minister of Defense Klaudia Tanner traveled to the U.S. to meet with her U.S. counterparts. Tanner’s trip began in Washington, DC, where she met with U.S. Deputy Secretary of Defense Dr. Kathleen Hick at the Pentagon on May 10 to discuss the U.S.-Austrian defense relationship in light of the changing security landscape in Europe.
