The Hon. John Mirisch, Mayor of the City of Beverly Hills, was awarded with the Decoration of Honor in Gold for Services to the Republic of Austria. On September 4, 2019, Consul General Andreas Launer presented the high national accolade to the politician in a decoration ceremony at the Austrian Residence in Los Angeles. Among the guests were elected representatives of the City of Beverly Hills, the honorees’ family and personal friends. Consul General Launer expressed his gratitude for Mayor Mirisch’s contribution to the strengthening of U.S.-Austrian cultural relations since his time as Director General of the Austrian subsidiary of United International Pictures in 1993-1998 until today.
